The Belief Loop

One of the core ideas behind how I work, and the reason effort alone never seems to change the pattern.

The Belief Loop is the pattern where a belief drives your thoughts, feelings, actions and results, and the results then land as proof of the belief, so the loop keeps feeding itself. Working harder on your thoughts, habits or results only resets the loop. The one thing that changes it is changing the belief at the start.

Most people try to change their results. They work harder, build better systems, fix their habits, push through. For a while it looks like it is working, and then the same pattern comes back.

The reason is that the belief at the start of the loop never moved. A belief shapes the thoughts you have, the thoughts shape how you feel, the feelings shape what you do, and what you do produces a result. Then your mind reads that result as proof the belief was right all along. The loop closes and starts again.

Why effort does not break it

Thoughts, feelings, actions and results are the outer rings of the loop. You can work on any of them and the loop simply resets, because the belief in the centre is still deciding what everything means. A good month gets filed as luck. A setback gets filed as "I knew it". The evidence is always read to fit.

This is why a business owner can hit every target and still feel like it is not enough. The number changed. The belief underneath did not, so the number never counts.

What actually changes it

The only thing that changes the loop is changing the belief at the start. When that shifts, the same thoughts, feelings and actions start lining up behind what you actually want, and the results begin to prove something new. I do this by finding the belief, tracing it back to where it started and changing it there, using cognitive hypnotherapy and NLP.

The Belief Loop is my own model, and it is the spine of how I work.
