Questions people ask

The things people want to know before they get in touch. If yours is not here, the Belief Audit is the easiest place to start.

What happens in an Executive Preview?

An Executive Preview is a free 90 minute one-to-one session, and it is a real preview of what it is like to be a client of mine. I treat you as a paying client from the start, with nothing to sell going in. We find the belief getting in your way and start working on it, so you leave with something real rather than a sales pitch. If there is something I can genuinely help with, I walk you through how working together looks at the end. If there is not, I will tell you that too.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy is very good at insight, at helping you understand where something came from. My experience, and the experience of most people I work with, is that understanding a belief does not change it. That gap is what I call the insight trap. I am not against therapy and I never tell anyone to stop treatment. My work starts where explaining it stops, by going back to where the belief was installed and changing what it means, using cognitive hypnotherapy and NLP.

How is this different from business coaching?

Business coaching works on the business: the strategy, the systems, the plan, the accountability. I work on the person. In my experience the thing holding a successful business owner back is almost never the strategy. It is a belief that has them doing everything themselves, chasing a version of success that is not really theirs, and never feeling like it is enough. I change that at the root. The strategy tends to look after itself once the person running it is different.

Do you work online or in person?

Most of my work is done online, so you can work with me wherever you are in the UK. I also have private meeting spaces in Manchester for clients who would prefer to meet in person, which is arranged individually and priced on request. Either way, a session needs 90 minutes of your full attention and a space where you will not be interrupted.

Who do you work with?

Business owners whose business is genuinely doing well but is built around them, and it is costing them their life outside it. The money is real, but more revenue just means more of their hours, and they are the person everything comes back to. They have usually tried mentors, books, routines or other coaches, and nothing has changed what is underneath. What makes someone a good fit is that they are self-aware and genuinely willing to change, not just to understand themselves.

Who is this not for?

It is not for people who only want to understand themselves and are not willing to go anywhere difficult. It is not for people who want business strategy, tactics or accountability, because I work on the person, not the business plan. And it is not a substitute for clinical care. If someone needs treatment for depression or another mental health condition, my work comes after that, not instead of it.

What is cognitive hypnotherapy?

Cognitive hypnotherapy is a modern, evidence-informed approach that combines hypnotherapy with ideas from cognitive and neuroscience-based work and NLP. Rather than treating everyone the same way, it works with how your own mind made sense of something, usually early in life, and changes the belief at that root. I trained in it with Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy and use it alongside NLP in all of my one-to-one work.
